Power Performer of the Month: Michael L.

Recore Electric • July 27, 2026

We're proud to recognize Michael as Recore Electric's Power Performer for the month of May.

Meet Michael: Drafter/BIM Designer

Michael has been a valued member of the Recore team for two years and serves as a Drafter/BIM Designer on our Engineering team, supporting both our project managers and field teams through detailed drawings and 3D models.

An Unexpected Career Path

A graduate of East Texas A&M University with a degree in organizational leadership, Michael initially took drafting as an elective and never imagined pursuing it as a career. Inspired by his mother, a teacher, he later stepped into a drafting teacher role at a local high school, where he discovered a passion for helping others learn. That experience showed him how much he could grow by learning from more experienced drafters, leading him to pursue drafting full-time and eventually join Recore.

Advice for Someone Starting Out

Michael's advice for anyone new to the field: "Surround yourself with people who challenge you and deepen your understanding of your work — something far more valuable than most realize. Find people who push you to be better and learn as much as possible from them." He adds that he wouldn't be able to do what he does without his team.

When asked what he likes most about working at Recore Electric, Michael said: "The genuine care they have for their people. There's a reason we have team members who have been here for decades — every person, regardless of their role, is valued and appreciated. It truly is a great place to be."

Please join us in congratulating Michael for his incredible work and dedication.
